From the Principal’s Office:
Dear Evergreen Families,
September has come to an end, and we are heading into October. It is hard to believe that the first month of school is already completed. On behalf of our entire staff I would like to thank each and every one of you for helping us make the transition back to school so seamless. We are enjoying getting to know all our new students, and happy to have so many familiar faces back.
The weather has been changing and Fall is certainly upon us in the Seattle area. I would like to take a moment and remind you to dress your child in layers for the classroom and outdoor times. We go outside even in drizzly weather and would like every child to have a coat that is water proof and allows them to comfortably participate in the “outdoor” classroom.
October is a busy month, filled with lots of fun seasonal activities. All of our classrooms will be going on their first field trip to the Pumpkin Patch. Permission slips will be sent home and will need to be returned before the field trip date. On Tuesday, October 31st the whole school will be celebrating Halloween with a parade. Costumes are encouraged, but please remember to leave scary masks and weapons at home.
Our After School Enrichment programs have started. Our Fall classes include Amazing Athletes, Bricks for Kids, Cooking, Dance, Drama, Science, and Soccer. If you missed the opportunity to join in the fun, you will have another chance to sign up for our Winter and Spring sessions.
School Uniforms: Just as a reminder we are a uniform school Monday through Thursday. Please remember to wear our school colors of navy, forest green, white, and khaki during the week. You can order Evergreen Academy logo wear online through Queensboro: http://ea1601711thea1500.qbstores.com
The following items are uniform approved:
- Girl’s jumpers, skorts, and skirts in navy blue, hunter/forest green, or khaki
- Hunter/forest green, navy blue, or khaki shorts or pants
- White, navy blue, or hunter/forest green polo shirts, button-down shirts, sweatshirts, or sweaters with or without the Evergreen Academy logo
- Closed-toe shoes or sandals with heel and toe straps
Friday is a free dress day, and students can wear whatever they like!
Finally, I hope you are enjoying our Tadpoles app, powered by Links2Home. We are continuously working to increase our communication using this program.
Sincerely,
